On the road again...

I know it's corny, but my mama used to sing this song (off-key, bless her heart) every time we hit the highway when I was a kid. Try as I might, it still comes to mind every damn time I head out the door with my travelin' shoes on.

Anyway, I set out this morning, and wanted to take a picture of where I was leavin' from. Don't know if it shows up in the picture very well, but those white specks are flower petals, falling out of the trees. That green fuzz on the bushes is the first leaves of spring, too- and that's Sarina, the satyr girl who put me up for the winter, waving goodbye.

It's not much of a picture, but I like the way the sun comes over the top of the building. Besides, it's a good memory of a kind friend!

This is me, by the way. Farah Andawi, eshu wilder, wanderer, and general person of no account.

My friend Eliza (Cogshorn, of the Boston Cogshorns, she tells me ) somehow managed to fix my laptop so that I could pick up internet anywhere, even places with no wi-fi. I'm not sure how she did it- she tried to explain, but it made no sense to me! All I know is, it seemed to involve a very soulful, passionate and obscene conversation with my wireless card.

Anyhow, the long and short of it is, I thought I'd keep a photo diary on the road this time. Hope you enjoy!
